Turkmenistan has invited the business community of the Republic of Korea to participate in trade and investment events planned for 2026, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan A. Nazarov said during the 6th annual Korea–Central Asia Economic Council, held online, according to the Thursday press-release from the Embassy of Turkmenistan in South Korea.
The Turkmen side emphasized its long-term partnership program with South Korea. Nazarov highlighted the strengthening of economic ties between the countries and cited joint projects, including the construction of the Kiyanly petrochemical complex and the modernization of the Turkmenbashi oil refining complex.
Halkara Türkmen Logistik (HTL) presented a forward-looking logistics vision, positioning Turkmenistan as a digital and sustainable transit bridge across Eurasia. HTL highlighted key terminals — Sarakhs, Artyk, Etrek and Turkmenbashi — and outlined plans to upgrade “smart” terminals and develop e-document systems and AI-enabled cargo tracking to better serve Korean exporters and investors.
The event was organized by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), the chambers of commerce of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and the Korea Foundation.
