Turkmenistan will modernize the Turkmenbashy Oil Refinery Complex of the state concern Türkmennebit, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov said during a government meeting on Friday.
According to Amanov, the Kenar Oil Storage and Loading Facility is one of the key structural units of the complex, handling the receipt, storage, and shipment of petroleum products to consumers via rail and maritime routes, Turkmenistan’s official media reported.
The planned modernization will aim to optimize the processes of receiving, storing, and shipping refined products, as well as to significantly strengthen the country’s transport and logistics capacity, Amanov noted.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedow emphasized the sustainable development of the oil refining sector in line with modern standards, ensuring reliable delivery of petroleum products to consumers. Approving the proposal to modernize the complex, the head of state instructed the adoption of necessary measures.
Founded in 1943, the Turkmenbashy Oil Refinery Complex produces unleaded automotive gasoline, aviation and industrial kerosene, jet and diesel fuel, fuel oil, lubricants, polypropylene, light gas oil, petroleum electrode coke, liquefied natural gas, construction and road bitumen, and a range of other petroleum products.
