The Garabogazkarbamid plant, located in the city of Garabogaz, Turkmenbashi district, Balkan province of Turkmenistan, produced 95,000 tons of urea fertilizers in January 2026. This exceeds the planned target by 25,000 tons, or 136 percent of the scheduled volume, Turkmen official media reported Wednesday.

According to the report, the plant also produced more than 54,000 tons of ammonia since the beginning of the year, compared with the planned 40,000 tons. Production thus exceeded the plan by over 14,000 tons, or 135 percent.

Agamyrat Shajayev, head of urea production at Garabogazkarbamid, said that the majority of the plant’s products are exported to the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, Afghanistan, Singapore, and European countries.

The plant is equipped with a 10,000-ton ammonia storage facility, urea storage warehouses with a total capacity of 100,000 tons, seawater purification units, a high-capacity gas-turbine generator for electricity production, residential and cultural-service buildings, and other infrastructure.

Based on modern scientific achievements and advanced practices, the plant’s production capacities allow for an annual output of 1,155,000 tons of high-quality urea and 660,000 tons of ammonia.
