Trades at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET) exceeded 669 million manats during the first week of February, as Turkmen entrepreneurs concluded transactions on the exchange, state media reported Monday.
For the domestic market, local businesspeople purchased base oil, polypropylene and road bitumen produced by Turkmennebit, as well as Portland cement, cotton yarn, raw silk and wheat flour.
For foreign currency, business representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan purchased liquefied gas produced by Turkmennebit and Turkmenhimiya, along with urea and desulfurized diesel fractions manufactured at Turkmenhimiya facilities.
In addition, entrepreneurs from Türkiye and Ukraine bought cottonseed oil soapstock, crude cotton fatty acids, nondistilled crude fatty acids from cotton soapstock, as well as solid-dyed and jacquard terry products for foreign currency. The total value of these transactions exceeded $7.13 million.
