Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Baymyrat Annamammedov said at a regular Cabinet meeting on Friday that the government plans to hold an international tender to modernize the Ashgabat–Dashoguz highway, which connects the Dashoguz region with the capital, and to build a new bridge along the route.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, after reviewing the report, said the highway is one of the country’s main roads. He approved the reconstruction plan and instructed Annamammedov to carry out the necessary work.
Annamammedov also reported on the Ministry of Automobile Roads’ efforts to modernize the road network, develop transport and transit corridors, and construct roads and bridges to international standards. The president also signed a decree authorizing the state concern Türkmennebit to purchase the necessary machinery and equipment.
The Cabinet of Ministers also approved decisions on other key matters of state governance.
