Lebap Province is currently operating 18 modern greenhouses for vegetable production, while another 19 greenhouse complexes are under construction, according to Turkmen official media on Thursday.
Under 2026 production targets, the region plans to produce 300,000 tons of vegetables, 136,000 tons of potatoes, 168,000 tons of melons and gourds, 47,000 tons of fruits, and 19,000 tons of grapes.
In the consumer market sector, output of consumer goods is expected to exceed 5.366 billion manats this year. Retail trade turnover is projected to grow by 10.7% compared to the previous year, with the private sector accounting for 90% of total turnover.
As part of the development program and investment plan for 2026, modernization of irrigation and drainage systems is also planned in Sayat District, along with the construction of a warehouse for the regional plant protection service.
