The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has appointed Nodira Mansurova as its new Regional Head for Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. She will assume her new role on September 1, 2026, overseeing the Bank’s operations across the three Central Asian countries from its office in Bishkek.
Mansurova succeeds Ayten Rustamova, who has led the EBRD’s regional activities since 2021, according to the Bank.
A British national originally from Uzbekistan, Mansurova brings more than two decades of experience in development finance and economic development. Prior to this appointment, she served as the EBRD’s Regional Head for SME Finance and Development in Central Asia, based in Almaty.
Throughout her career at the EBRD, Mansurova has managed major municipal, environmental and infrastructure projects at the Bank’s headquarters in London, as well as in its offices in Uzbekistan, Egypt and Jordan.
Since 2021, she has headed the EBRD’s operations in Tunisia, where she played a key role in advancing the country’s energy transition agenda, promoting private-sector participation in renewable energy projects, supporting state-owned enterprise reforms, and fostering the digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises.
In her new position, Mansurova will be responsible for overseeing the EBRD’s investment activities and financial operations in Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, with a particular focus on sustainable infrastructure development and strategic investment projects across the region.
