Government institutions and business circles from Turkmenistan and the United States take part in a Turkmen-U.S. business forum held in Ashgabat at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, according to Turkmenistan’s official news portal reported on Thursday.
The Turkmen delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev, while the U.S. side was headed by Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the Turkmenistan–U.S. Business Council.
The forum brought together representatives of several major U.S. companies, including Climate Compass, CNH Industrial, Coca-Cola, John Deere, Palo Alto Networks, Sig Sauer, Valley Irrigation, and Westport Trading Europe Limited.
The sides discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and outlined priority areas for further engagement. It was noted that U.S. companies have been operating in key sectors of Turkmenistan’s economy for many years.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation in energy, transport, agriculture, and high technology. The participants also discussed prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas sector, industry, finance, trade, and environmental protection.
On the sidelines of the forum, bilateral meetings were held between representatives of Turkmen ministries, agencies, and the private sector with U.S. companies to discuss potential joint projects and investment initiatives.
