Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during talks with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili in Tbilisi, reaffirmed support for the initiative to establish the Caspian Sea–Black Sea transport corridor along the Turkmenistan–Azerbaijan–Georgia–Romania route, Turkmen state media reported Friday.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted transport, logistics, communications and port infrastructure are among the key areas of bilateral cooperation. According to him, linking the Caspian and Black Sea regions creates significant opportunities for expanding trade, economic and investment partnerships.
During the talks, the sides also highlighted the development of cooperation within international organizations, primarily the United Nations, interparliamentary dialogue, trade and economic ties, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The Turkmen President reaffirmed his readiness to further expand cooperation with Georgia in the cultural, scientific, educational and sports fields.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Berdimuhamedov invited Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili to visit Turkmenistan at a time convenient for him. The Georgian leader accepted the invitation with gratitude and expressed confidence in the further development of bilateral cooperation.
