Ambassadors from Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan discussed expanding transport and trade links across the Caspian Sea in Washington on August 12, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the US reported on Thursday.
The meeting, titled “From Dialogue to Delivery: The Cholpon-Ata Summit and Future Directions of Trans-Caspian Cooperation,” was organized by the Caspian Policy Center (CPC) and brought together ambassadors and representatives from Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan. Ambassador Esen Aydogdyyev represented Turkmenistan at the meeting.
Participants discussed ways to turn shared regional priorities into concrete initiatives, as well as efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the region. They highlighted the importance of the informal summit of the heads of state of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, and growing interest in deepening regional cooperation.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of cooperation between Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan in promoting prosperity, transport connectivity and stability across the Trans-Caspian region. Participants also considered ways to strengthen economic integration and develop reliable infrastructure.
