Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atajan Movlamov met Aug. 20, 2026, with a delegation led by Muhammad Amir Malik, a member of the International Coordination Department of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication of Pakistan. During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for further developing bilateral cooperation in information technology, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan on Thursday.
During the meeting, the parties noted the existence of broad opportunities for expanding cooperation and implementing new joint initiatives in various fields. The Pakistani side was informed about Turkmenistan’s state policy in information technology, aimed at introducing advanced technologies and achieving full digitalization of the economy, public administration and the social sphere.
In addition, events held in honor of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s state independence under the motto "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses" were discussed. The parties also paid special attention to the significance of the upcoming September meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, as well as the first Akhalteke Horse World Championship, which will take place in the Netherlands on Sept. 4–6, 2026.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue supporting each other’s initiatives in the international arena, as well as to consistently develop friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
