The delegation of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (Turkic Council) headed by the Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev was hosted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on June 11, the press service of the ministry reports.

During the meeting, the parties noted the significance of Turkic Council in strengthening friendly ties between the countries and nations which has positive impact on the development of economic and cultural-humanitarian relations in the whole region. The participants also stated that the Council offers a wide range of opportunities for cooperation in different spheres.

Baghdad Amreyev was appointed as Secretary General of the Turkic Council by the Council of Heads of State during the 6th Summit of the Turkic Council held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan on September 3, 2018.

The Turkic Council's four founding member states are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. It was established in 2009.

2022
