Wage Rates to Increase in 2020
The minimum wage in Turkmenistan was set at 870 manat.

According to the Decree signed by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, starting from January 1, 2020, the wage rates will be increased.

Thus, the rates of monthly wages of employees of budget-funded institutions, self-supporting enterprises and public associations, pensions and government benefits, scholarships of students and trainees will increase by 10 percent.

Also, the Decree established a baseline for determining the minimum pension in the amount of 338 manat, for calculating state benefits in the amount of 322 manat. The minimum wage in Turkmenistan was set at 870 manat.

The President of Turkmenistan has also ordered the deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers to study the work of teachers in rural areas. They have to receive a significant pay raise as well as to being provided with housing on preferential terms, the President said.
