OSCE Holds Workshop for Online Journalists

Three-day training workshop for journalists working in online media outlets kicked-off at the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat on Wednesday. The seminar was organized by the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat.

The seminar is held under the project to support improvement of professional skills of journalists and public relations specialists of the state institutions. Representatives of mass media, including online media outlets in the country, as well as correspondents of foreign news agencies accredited in Turkmenistan take part in the workshop.

During the seminar, Oksana Silantyeva, the head of Silamedia, told the participants about how to use multimedia content in online journalism. Being one of the first multimedia journalists in the Russian Federation, the expert talked about the latest achievements in digital publishing.

At the first day of the workshop, Vadim Makarenko, founder of the first data journalism website in Poland, shared his experiences in the field.

Natalya Drozd, Ambassador of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat, also participated at the opening of the seminar, which will last till Friday.
