Turkmen Delegation to Participate in the Opening of Afghan Railway
The 88-kilometer Kerki-Ymamnazar-Akina railway, first stage of TAT, was comissioned in November 2016.

The delegation of Turkmenistan is on a business trip to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on Thursday, State news agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports.

According to the Resolution signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the delegation will take part in the opening ceremonies of the 10-kilometer railroad at the Akina station in the Andhoy region of the Faryab province and the launch of construction of the Akina-Andhoy railway.

The Akina-Andhoy railway is part of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan (TAT) railway.

The 88-kilometer Kerki-Ymamnazar-Akina railway, the first stage of TAT, was comissioned in November 2016. According to the government of Tajikistan, the feasibility study for the construction of the Tajik section of the railway will be completed by the end of the current year.
