The representatives of the International seaport of Turkmenbashi and a multinational shipping company BBC Chartering had a meeting on the issue of large-volume freight transportation. Thus, the transit of large and heavy-weight freights for the construction projects in Uzbekistan is expected in 2020. For now, they are planning the transportation of railway carriages, containers and passengers between Turkmenbashi and Makhachkala ports.
Japanese Simitomo and Toyota Central Asia FZF companies took part in the conference on transport corridors between Caspian and Black seas, held in June. As a result, the signing of an agreement between International seaport of Turkmenbashi, Simitomo and Toyota Cental Asia FZF companies is expected in the near future.
Accordingly, storage of Toyota company’s cars, lubricants and spare parts at Turkmenbashi International Seaport’s warehouse is also being considered. Moreover, the seaport plans to further boost cooperation with other foreign auto logistics companies.
Freights imported at large quantities to Turkmenbashi International Seaport are exempted from custom taxes for up to three years. In addition, freights are then stored in open warehouse free of charge for 1-2 months. Furthermore, clients who bring in substantial amount of freights are granted number of benefits like being served out of turn, provided with accommodation and offices that are equipped with communication devices.
