President of Turkmenistan appointed Igor Makarov, President of ARETI International Group, as an expert under his Advisor on oil and gas issues.
The appointment was made on Thursday, when President of Turkmenistan received his oil and gas adviser Yagshigeldi Kakayev and head of the ARETI International Group. During the meeting, Kakayev appealed to the President with a proposal to appoint Igor Makarov as an expert under the Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues.
Having approved the appointment of Makarov to the position, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the successful long-term business cooperation of Turkmenistan with the company.
After expressing his gratitude to the Turkmen President for approving his candidature, Makarov emphasized that, as a native of Turkmenistan, he would do his best to contribute to its development.
During the meeting, Kakayev also informed the Head of state about the work in the fuel and energy complex, including measures to modernize and diversify the industry.
ARETI International Group is a successor of ITERA International Group of Companies. With its headquarters in Switzerland, ARETI is focused on investments in oil and gas sector, engineering, power supply, real estate development, and food product manufacturing and delivery. The company has a 25-year experience in oil and gas industry.
Besides his main position, Igor Makarov is also the Honorary President of Russian Cycling Federation and Member of the Management Board of International Cycling Union (UCI).
During the meeting, the sides also discussed the 2021 Track Cycling World Championships and 2026 World Road Cycling Championships which will be held in Turkmenistan.
