Gündogar Akymy private enterprise will produce sunflower oils trademarked as Günaý in its factory that launched on September 21.
The factory occupies 2 hectares of land in Ashgabat’s Bagtyyarlyk etrap and is equipped with oil extraction machinery from China’s Huatai company that is able to produce 50 tons of sunflower oil a day.
The factory’s annual production capacity is 7,200 tons of sunflower oil. Finished products will be supplied to consumers in 1 liter and 5 liter plastic packages.
The idea to establish the production of sunflower oil in Turkmenistan was first voiced at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on October 23, 2018. During the governmental meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Chary Gylyjow noted that the new facility of Gündogar Akymy private enterprise will produce ecologically clean sunflower oil and announced plans to increase the country’s sunflower cultivation fields to 5000 hectares in 2019.
In December last year, Gündogar Akymy and Swiss Syngenta Agro AG signed an agreement on purchase of sunflower seeds for cultivation.
Huatai company, established in 1950, is a large scale oil machinery manufacturer in Henan province, China. Its production facility occupies 100 thousand square meters there. The company exported its oil production machinery to over 130 countries.
