One of the leading enterprises of Turkmenistan, the Guvlyduz plant, has produced 71,745 tons of salt in the first 9 months of this year. The company also produced 63,760 tons of granular salt.
The enterprise, located in the village of Guvlymayak of Balkan’s Turkmenbashi etrap, celebrated its 100th anniversary in the 1990s. At an enterprise where salt reserves have not been cut out for many years, relative work is underway to provide the population with high-quality table salt.
According to experts, the purity of salt is 98%. This figure reaches 99% after the salt’s storage for 5-6 months. The enterprise takes into account the demands of consumers in the production of the iodized table salt.
The plant, located on the Caspian coast, packages finished products in bags and other containers. Demand is high for both table salt and technical salt. The latter is widely used in textile and pharmaceutical industries, drilling rigs and steam boiler rooms.
Guvlyduz plant pays special attention to the issue of improving production. The plant recently commissioned a new salt production workshop. The workshop, built by Dana Gurluşyk private enterprise, is equipped with Turkish machinery. The new workshop will produce at least 40 thousand tons of edible salt and 2,5 thousand tons of tableted technical salt per year. Salt tablets are used in cleaning oil and water pipes.
The new workshop processes raw materials through several stages. The salt passing in the stream, is poured into the hopper, where it is subjected to manual cleaning and goes to the wash. Products are washed five times in water. After drying they are sieved, packaged in containers and are sent to the warehouse.
When the new workshop goes fully operational, the finished products will be packaged in plastic buckets of 0.5, 1 and 1.5 kg, paper bags and other containers.
