Lebapgazçykaryş Management of Turkmengas State Concern produced more than 6,48 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 39.500 thousand tons of gas condensate during the first nine months of this year.
The Management also produced 92,6 thousand tons of liquefied natural gas and exported 85,5 thousand tons of the products over the same period.
Natural gas production in the eastern part of Turkmenistan began in the 1960s. During the years of independence of the country, new oil and gas enterprises appeared in the province.
As a result of establishing cooperation with foreign partners, the Italian company Tehnofrigo commissioned the first liquefied gas production facility at the Naip gas field in 1998.
Later, the Canadian company Thermo Design Engineering Ltd, together with Turkmen partners, built modern complex facilities for the production of liquefied gas at the Naip and Bagaja fields. Most of the produced liquefied natural gas goes to export.
The Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline, commisiond in December 2009, also starts in the Lebap velayat. The transnational gas pipeline has a total length of about 7 thousand kilometers.
