Turkmen-Norwegian political consultations on the level of the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Norway took place on October 28 in Oslo.
According to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the diplomats discussed the favorable vectors of bilateral ties between the two countries, regional and international agenda, as well as the situation in the Central Asia and Afghanistan.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Audun Halvorsen headed the Norwegian delegation in the talks with Turkmen delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vepa Hajiyev.
The parties to the talks exchanged views on the cooperation issues in the framework of the international organizations and collaboration in the promising spheres of economy, such as the energy and its renewable sources.
They also discussed the issues of exchanging best practices and knowledge in the area of leading technologies and innovations, development of relations in the field of science, education, sport and tourism.
The delegation of Turkmenistan also held a meeting with the Norwegian Special Envoy for Afghanistan Per Albert Ilsaas, during which the parties noted the unique contribution of Turkmenistan in maintaining peace and security in the whole Central Asian region, including in the neighboring Afghanistan.
The Turkmen delegation then met with the Executive of the Offshore & Marine Services (OMS) Company Agnar Forde. The parties discussed the opportunities of expanding collaboration between the business structures of the two countries where lies great potential for mutual implementation.
Norwegian oil and gas companies express interest in hydrocarbon-rich Turkmen market.
OMS provides installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance services on all types of vessels, including on offshore oil and gas units.
