Turkmen Customs Officials Attend International Meeting in Baku
The meeting gathered representatives of the 20 WCO member states, the WCO Secretariat and of the ROCB Europe Region.

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan participated in 3rd Meeting of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Europe Region National Contact Points (NPCs) for Capacity Building, which was held at the Regional Office for Capacity Building (ROCB) for the WCO Europe Region in Baku, Azerbaijan on January 27-29.

The meeting gathered representatives of the 20 WCO member states, the WCO Secretariat and of the ROCB Europe Region. The WCO Secretariat delegation was headed by the Director of the WCO Capacity Building Directorate, Mr. Taeil Kang.

The Meeting was aimed at deepening and updating the participants’ knowledge, as well as to strengthen the cooperative relations among the WCO member states.

During the meeting, the participants were informed about the WCO and the ROCB Europe strategies, activities and initiatives. 

During the three-day session, participating delegates briefed about the capacity building processes in their respective customs administrations and the progress achieved within the scope of Mercator Program.

State Customs Service of Turkmenistan was formed in November 1991 and since 1993 is a member of the World Customs Organization. Today, the State Customs Service operates six customs administrations and 51 customs posts.
