Ak-Hünji Individual Enterprise launched a production of plastic sheets from domestic raw materials in Turkmenistan. The company produced test batches of the new products on new equipment, using the extrusion method.
Polypropylene sheet has many applications, the company’s Director General Bekmamet Chariyev said. It is used in the construction of swimming pools, in ventilation systems, and for the manufacture of laboratory equipment and food containers.
Chariyev noted that after completion of commissioning works, the company will daily produce about 2tons of plastic sheets.
The company obtains main raw materials from polymer plant in Turkmenistan’s western velayat of Balkan.
In April this year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) allocated a loan of $1.8 million to the company. The business project envisages the construction of a new workshop and the purchase of an Italian-made machinery for the production of extruded polystyrene.
Established in 2009, Ak-Hünji is a leading producer of decorative profiles and sandwich panels in the country.
