Co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation held meeting in a video conference format on Wednesday, Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in its press release.
The meeting participants examined the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea. The sides exchanged views and identified concrete measures in order to intensify cooperation in a wide range of areas, particularly in the fields of economy and investments.
Considering the growth indicators of trade and economic ties, the parties examined the current areas of cooperation in the fields of energy, textile industry, shipbuilding and digital technologies, according to the statement.
During the talks, the officials also discussed the possibilities for further development of the activities of Korean companies in Turkmenistan, which are actively involved in projects for the construction and modernization of petrochemical complexes in the country.
The sides noted the positive experience of cooperation in the fields of healthcare, including the prevention and response to infectious diseases, taking into account the current pandemic situation. The participants emphasized the timeliness and effectiveness of the mutual actions taken in this direction.
