Turkmen grain farmers harvested more than 1.4 million tons of wheat from 690 thousand hectares of land plots, thus fully fulfilling the state wheat harvest plan, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council on Monday.
Before the meeting, the hyakims (governors) of the velayats gave reports on the implementation of the state wheat harvest plan.
According to the reports, the grain producers harvested 400 thousand tons of wheat in Ahal velayat, 80 thousand tons in Balkan velayat, 265 thousand tons in Dashoguz velayat, 310 thousand tons in Lebap velayat and 345 thousand tons in Mary velayat.
Farmers in Turkmenistan’s Ahal, Lebap and Mary velayats started harvesting wheat on June 5 and wheat growers of Balkan and Dashoguz velayats joined them on June 12.
