The Spain-based company Ibertest will work on the modernization of the Turkmen railways, Trend news agency reported on Friday.
According to the report, Ibertest offered Turkmenistan four possible ways to modernize the Turkmen railways.
To discuss these directions, a meeting was to be held between representatives of the company and the Türkmendemirýollary (Turkmen Railways) Agency in March this year, but due to the suspension of flights caused by COVID-19, the parties had to postpone it.
In this regard, the company representative told Trend that the parties plan to set a new date for the meeting, but it has not yet been determined.
In August 2019, the Turkmen Railways signed a cooperation agreement with Ibertest to improve the quality of work carried out in the units of the local agency for ensuring the safety of passengers.
Under the agreement, the Turkmen Railways will also have the opportunity to reconstruct previously created, operating facilities.
