The trainings mainly focused on the introduction of agricultural innovations, including water accounting, laser land leveling, the use of solar energy for distant pasture farming and the modernization of water collecting facilities, according to the newspaper.
Agro-information centers created at the pilot sites are connected to the process. Now the equipment of such centers is underway and to this end, business plans have been developed. For a more efficient operation of the centers, it was decided to establish cooperation with educational institutions and to more actively involve scientists in the activities.
The issuance of mini-grants promotes the implementation of ideas for agricultural and water use purposes. At the same time, funds were allocated on condition of co-financing, if local farms and associations will provide 20-40% of the total cost of work.
The joint project of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the UN Development Program has been implemented for several years and will be completed next year.
