A new gas well at the Tajibay deposit in Turkmenistan’s northeastern velayat of Lebap was put into operation, the online newspaper of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan reported on Tuesday.
The daily capacity of the well is 400 thousand cubic meters of natural gas.
The specialists of Lebapnebitgazgözleg management of the Türkmengeologiýa (Turkmengeology) State Corporation drilled the new well. The productive layer of the new well lies at a depth of 3,700 meters, according to the report.
The Tajibay gas field, located in the south of the Lebap velayat, was commissioned in December 2019. Specialists of the Lebapgazchykarysh Lebapgazçykaryş Management of Türkmengaz State Concern carry out industrial production of natural gas at the field.
In October last year at the Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2019 international conference it was reported that Turkmenistan’s hydrocarbon reserves equal more than 71 billion tons in oil equivalent, of which more than 20 billion tons are oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters are natural gas.
Galkynysh field, containing 27.4 trillion cubic meters of natural gas, is the largest gas reserve in Turkmenistan.
