Turkmen carpet weaving factory of Halach, located in Turkmenistan’s northeastern velayat of Lebap, fulfilled its nine-month production plan ahead of schedule, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Friday.
Since the beginning of the year, the factory has produced 7.3 thousand square meters of carpets and rugs. Compared to the same period last year, the carpet plant increased production volume by 13% in physical terms and by 38% in monetary terms.
The company currently employs 2,300 people. With the aim of expanding production, the company builds its branch in Guych Birleshik village. The commissioning of the branch will create an additional 100 jobs.
During a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that large-scale work has been launched in the country to fully meet the domestic demand for environmentally friendly carpets of high quality, popularize them in the world, increase the export potential of the carpet industry, and emphasized the need for further continuation of this activity.
Türkmenhaly (Turkmen Carpet) State Association fulfilled the production plan of the carpet products for the past eight months by 111.4%.
