Turkmenistan, UN Discuss Implementation of Plan For Combating Infectious Diseases
The meeting participants considered support from UN agencies and its partners in the implementation of activities planned for the near future in accordance with the CPRP.

An online meeting took place on Friday to discuss progress in the implementation of the Preparedness and Response Plan of Turkmenistan to Acute Infectious Disease (CPRP), the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports.

The meeting participants considered support from UN agencies and its partners in the implementation of activities planned for the near future in accordance with the CPRP. The planned activities include the second seminar for journalists on communications in emergency situations.

Addressing the meeting participants, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Elena Panova underlined that the CPRP meets the international unitary standards.

The online meeting brought together representatives of the Turkmenistan’s Mejlis (Parliament), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country’s spheres of healthcare, finance, legal and social protection, education, agriculture and environmental protection, migration and customs services, transport departments, and the media, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and public organizations of Turkmenistan.

The UN was represented by heads and specialists of various UN agencies accredited in the country, including the UNDP, the UNICEF, the WHO, the UNFPA and the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.
