Turkmenistan is carrying out a systematic and gradual transition to a market economy. With this, the country increases import-substitution manufacturing, ensures internal market supply with high-quality domestic goods competitive to foreign ones, and improves the export potential of the national economy by increasing the share of the private sector.
According to a press release issued by State Customs Service of Turkmenistan on Thursday, Gudratly Mekan Economic Society exported 419,900 square meters of isogum, roof waterproofing material, under the same name brand in January-September this year.
The products are mainly sent to the markets of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Georgia.
The company manufactures isogam with a thickness of 2.5 mm to 4 mm. The products are with one or two layers (fiberglass/polyester), as well as with an outer coating of polyester and aluminum foil.
Gudratly Mekan Economic Society was established in 2011. In addition to the production of isogum, the company carries out design and construction of residential buildings, cultural and educational centers, sports facilities, and roads.
At the end of 2019, the share of the private sector in the total volume of products manufactured in Turkmenistan amounted to 65.3%. In industry sector, this indicator exceeded 56%, in construction and trade sectors - 77.4% and 93.5%, respectively.
