Turkmenistan increased the production of pharmaceuticals by 6.3% in January-September 2020 compared to the same period last year, Orient news outlet reported on Friday with reference to the data of State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan.
According to the report, building the capacity of the pharmaceutical industry is an important factor in increasing the social security of the population. Due to the successes in this area, the quantity and quality of vital domestic drugs will be steadily increasing.
As of October 1 of this year, stocks of pharmaceuticals increased by 14% compared to their amount at the beginning of the year. This is particularly important in the current period when the epidemiological situation in the world is unstable, Orient noted.
The key partners of Turkmenistan in the development of the medical industry are India and Belarus. On October 15, during a phone talk with President of India Ram Nath Kovind, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed to expand cooperation in this direction.
Turkmen President said the country is ready to provide support to Indian pharmaceutical companies in the implementation of investment projects. The Presidents particularly discussed the creation of joint high-tech industries in Turkmenistan.
