Ak Durna Individual Enterprise grows several species of cyprinids in its water reservoirs, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Monday.
The enterprise mainly breeds common carp, some varieties of silver carp and grass carp. The enterprise created an environment that is most consistent with the natural conditions for the growing of juvenile fishes. They are kept in artificial reservoirs with running water, where the hydrochemical and temperature conditions are strictly observed.
According to the report, the company’s fish farm with a total area of five hectares in the S.A.Niyazov etrap is designed to produce 40-50 tons of fish annually. The enterprise has five Russian-made incubators, laboratories equipped with modern specialized equipment, and eight ponds.
Every year, part of the fish grown is released into their natural habitat - various water reservoirs of Dashoguz velayat. This autumn, two tons of juvenile fishes replenished the stocks of Sarykamysh Lake. By releasing juvenile fishes, the enterprise to a certain extent compensates for the commercial fishing it practices in the region.
Ak Durna, created after privatization of Dashoguzbalyk concern, is the largest private structure in the Dashoguz region, which specializes in fishing and fish farming. The company has its own fleet of 23 motor boats and a plant with smoking and freezing workshops.
