President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Tuesday inspected the progress of constructions of Garagum hotel with a multi-purpose business center in the northern part of the capital and a park located nearby.
The Head of State noted the importance of a single integrated location of the shopping and entertainment center, the park and the Garagum hotel, TDH news agency reports.
Turkmen President was then presented with general plans and schemes of the Garagum hotel and a park under construction along A. Niyazov and Hoja Ahmet Yasava streets, as well as projects of a shopping and entertainment center and underground passages.
The total area of the park zone will be 9.75 hectares, length - 320 meters, width - 310 meters. The park will include 9 fountains, including 1 large in the center and 8 smaller ones. The territory of the park will also include 3 water reservoirs, as well as 4 underground passages to ensure the safety of pedestrians.
The new park area, which stretches till the International Airport of the capital, will become a convenient place for residents of the surrounding houses to relax, according to the report. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said the steps taken in this direction are aimed at creating a favorable ecological environment with a positive impact on the population’s health.
Highlighting the importance of high-quality work and featuring of national elements in the park’s design, the Head of State focused on choosing a sonorous and modern name for the park and suggested to call it Laçyn (Falcon).
The Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Dovran Hudayberdiyev reported to the Head of State on the project of the shopping and entertainment center that is under construction.
The construction site of the shopping and entertainment center covers 8.92 hectares. The center’s building will be 40 meters high. The area of the planned multi-level parking lot will be 54,381.67 square meters.
Following the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to carry out the construction of the shopping and entertainment center in compliance with all international standards, adding that the external and internal design of the center should feature national elements. Turkmen Leader added that the new shopping center should include all the necessary conditions for buyers and vacationers.
Turkmen President then arrived at the construction site of the Garagum hotel. The 9-storey building of the hotel, located on an area of 6.9 hectares, will consist of 87 rooms, including standard, suite, luxury and super luxury. In addition, the hotel will have restaurants, a banquet hall, swimming pools, a fitness room and a tennis court. The hotel’s business center is expected to create necessary conditions for holding business meetings.
