President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a government meeting on Tuesday instructed Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov to develop and submit proposals on opening trade missions of Turkmenistan in foreign countries together with the relevant state bodies.
The government meeting was attended by a number of deputy chairmen of Cabinet of Ministers, heads of relevant structures and specialized universities, TDH news agency reports.
Addressing the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Gadyrgeldi Mushshikov, Turkmen President instructed to control the financial and economic situation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic missions and consular offices of Turkmenistan in foreign countries, the timely and targeted use of funds allocated from the State budget and other state sources of funding.
After analyzing the state of the economy in the region, it is necessary to prepare specific proposals by relying on a new approach to further cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation, Turkmen President noted.
In addition, the Head of State gave instructions to improve the activities of the country's Foreign Ministry and modernize its material and technical base, to carry out necessary measures to improve its financial and economic condition.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out that the diplomatic representatives of Turkmenistan abroad should establish direct contacts with producers when ministries and representatives of the country purchase imported goods and equipment in large volumes, assist them in purchasing these products at favorable prices and exchanging the necessary information.
