Turkmenistan’s Lebapgazçykaryş Produces Over 2 bcm of Natural Gas
In January 2021, a new gas compressor station at the Malay field in the Lebap velayat’s Charjev etrap was put into operation.

Lebapgazçykaryş Management of Türkmengaz State Concern produced 2.18 billion cubic meters of natural gas in January-February 2021, fulfilling the production plan by 146%, the online newspaper of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan reported on Tuesday.

On January 15, 2021, a new gas compressor station at the Malay field in the Lebap velayat’s Charjev etrap was put into operation. During the two-month period, the Malay field produced 1.375 bcm of natural gas instead of the planned 746.1 million cubic meters. Compared to the results of the same period last year, the growth rate was more than 140%.

Natural gas has been produced at the Malay field since 1986. The field not only provides natural gas to Lebap velayat, but also supplies energy products for the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China transnational gas pipeline via the 188-kilometer Malay-Bagtyyarlyk pipeline.

The Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline was launched in December 2009.
