The 8th meeting of the High-level Group on Facilitating Trade and Investments in the framework of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation, held online on Thursday, considered the draft Program of Economic Cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Russian Federation for 2021-2023.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Kerimberdy Gurbanov and the Russian side was led by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.
The meeting participants also discussed the prospects for trade and economic cooperation.
The agenda of the meeting included the progress of the implementation of joint projects. The sides exchanged views on the aspects of building up mutual trade and cooperation in the spheres of industry, energy, finance, partnership between financial regulators and commercial banks of Turkmenistan and Russia.
Upon the outcomes of the session, the parties signed the Protocol of the meeting.
In 2020, trade turnover between Russia and Turkmenistan increased by 39.6% compared to 2019.
