Italy imported from Turkmenistan 329,303 tons of petroleum products worth 95.7 million euros in 2020, the Azerbaijan-based Trend news agency reported on Monday with reference to the Eurostat.
Italy made the purchases of the Turkmen products in June (86,289 tons), August (79,495 tons), September (80,773 tons), October (2,255 tons) and December (82,489 tons) last year, according to the report.
Trend noted that in January-November 2020, the countries of the European Union (EU) imported from Turkmenistan 270,900 tons of petroleum products and oils obtained from bituminous minerals and crude oil.
During a telephone conversation in September last year, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed to President of Italy Sergio Mattarella to open a trade mission of Turkmenistan in Milan.
