President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in a Cabinet of Ministers meeting held online on Friday approved the draft Program of intergovernmental economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation for 2021-2023, the country’s official media reports.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov briefed about the preparation of the Program.
The Vice-Premier noted that the document, which is a kind of road map for a three-year period, covers all areas of relations, including the expansion of the product range of mutual trade, adding that such areas as industry, energy, agro-industrial complex, innovative technologies, service sector and finance are identified as priority vectors.
Following the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the Russia is one of the leading trade and economic partners of Turkmenistan and said the fruitful interstate cooperation with ample opportunities meets the interests of the well-being of the countries’ peoples.
Having approved the submitted draft Program, the Head of State instructed the Vice-Premier, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber to keep under strict control the implementation of the planned measures designed to help realize the potential for further building up the Turkmen-Russian partnership.
