An International Trade Center (ITC) will appear in Termez district of Uzbekistan’s Surkhandarya region, bordering Afghanistan, on an area of 26 hectares.

The total cost of the project is $75 million. The trade center will house terminals for receiving, storing, processing, sorting, packing and selling goods, the Press Service of President of Uzbekistan reported on Wednesday.

The center will also include 1,800 retail outlets, a logistics center, two hotels with 400 beds, hospitals and car service points. Sales outlets will occupy the ground floor, and light industry establishments –the upper floor.

The ITC is estimated to have an expected annual turnover of $500 million and an annual service volume of $10 million.

The President of Uzbekistan stressed that it is necessary to build, taking into account the experience accumulated at the Termez ITC’s construction, similar trade centers in areas bordering with other neighboring countries of Uzbekistan.

The Termez ITC is expected to start working in 2022.
