Turkmen state enterprises and private businesses, in preparation for the new academic year, produce schoolwear and school supplies.
The enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan produce line of clothing and footwear for schoolchildren made from high quality, environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic materials.
Particularly, the Ministry’s Bahar Sewing Factory produces white aprons, uniforms and jackets, as well as dressing gowns and aprons for labor lessons.
Ahal Sewing Factory sews school clothes for boys, and the Ýeniş Sewing Factory in Mary produces white shirts. Specialized enterprises of Turkmenabat, Dashoguz and Bereket are also engaged in production of school uniforms and garments.
Türkmen-Galkan joint venture produces several models of children's footwear, including shoes, moccasins and boots.
Private businesses in the country also contribute to import substitution in school supplies segment. Private structures manufacture different types of student notebooks of 12 sheets each, general notebooks of 24, 36, 48 and 96 sheets, notebooks on different school subjects, school diaries and A4 white paper. They also supply the country’s stores with pens and other essential school supplies.
Turkmen private furniture producers also provide educational institutions of the country with modern school desks that meet international quality requirements.
Last year, Çeper Sewing Factory in Turkmenistan’s northern velayat of Dashoguz and Turkmenabat Sewing Factory in the country’s northeastern velayat of Lebap launched the production of school backpacks.
Last academic year, more than 81 thousand teachers in 1868 secondary education institutions in Turkmenistan taught more than 1.4 million students.
