Turkmenistan Launches Textile Complex With 5,000-Ton Fine-Fiber Cotton Processing Capacity
Babadayhan Textile Complex worth $151.8 million houses a spinning, dyeing, sewing and weaving workshops.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Wednesday in the Babadayhan etrap of Ahal velayat participated in the opening ceremony of a new textile complex with a capacity to process 5,000 tons of fine-staple cotton a year.

The event was attended by the heads of the country’s bicameral parliament, deputy chairman of the government, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and sectoral departments, Governor of Ahal velayat, representatives of public organizations and the media, the country’s official media reports.

Representatives of textile machinery companies from Belgium, Japan, Germany, Switzerland and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) joined the solemn ceremony via video link. The representatives of the companies congratulated the Head of State with the awarding of numerous certificates of the textile complex.

Babadayhan Textile Complex worth $151.8 million includes four production buildings. The new complex covering the total area of 20 hectares houses a spinning, dyeing, sewing and weaving workshops.

In addition to production facilities, the complex also includes a two-story office building, production warehouses, a transformer station, a workshop, and a fire safety building. For the favorable conditions for work and recreation of the employees, a canteen with 450 seats, a sports ground, two two-storey hotels with 16 seats have also been erected at the complex.

The construction of the new textile complex in the Babadayhan etrap was started in accordance with the Presidential Resolution adopted in May 2018. The complex was built within the framework of the Program of the President of Turkmenistan for Socio-Economic Development in 2018-2024.
