Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Russia Batyr Niyazliyev held a meeting with Deputy Mayor, Head of the Department of Transport and Development of Road-Transport Infrastructure of Moscow Maxim Liksutov on Tuesday. The talks focused on cooperation in the field of land transport infrastructure, creation of modern urban agglomerations and smart cities.
Deputy Mayor of Moscow said there are good opportunities to establish cooperation in such segments as transport safety, optimization of parking spaces, introduction of electronic transport management systems in big cities, the Turkmen Embassy in Russia said in its statement.
In this context, the sides considered the possibility of organizing the visit of a delegation of the Moscow City Administration to Turkmenistan. During the visit, the Russian side proposed to consider such aspects as the use of digital technologies, development of transport infrastructure in building Ashgabat Smart City, creation of a green corridor for Turkmen agricultural products to Moscow, organization of a joint business forum with the participation of businesspeople of Turkmenistan and Moscow as the first step to a systematic and long-term cooperation.
The officials also touched upon aspects of cooperation in the economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
They noted that the broad, multi-faceted cooperation of Turkmenistan with Moscow as the world's biggest metropolis and one of the world leaders in development of infrastructure and modern urban planning has great prospects, is mutually beneficial and can give new constructive impetus to the interstate cooperation of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
The foundation of Ashgabat City, which will become a new city in the capital, was laid in May last year in a solemn ceremony with the participation of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
