The total amount of transactions concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan over the past week neared $69 million.
For foreign currency, the businesses from the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, the UK, Singapore, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan purchased gasoline, liquefied gas and hydrotreated diesel fuel produced at Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries, while the companies from Turkey and Afghanistan purchased liquefied gas produced at the Seydi Oil Refinery, the official media of Turkmenistan reported on Monday.
The Afghan and Uzbek businesses bought polyethylene produced by Türkmenhimiýa (Turkmen Chemicals) State Corporation.
Additionally, the business circles from Turkey and Kyrgyzstan purchased plain-dyed and jacquard terry products, and cotton yarn for foreign currency.
The Kazakh businesses purchased cotton yarn for 567,000 manats.
For the domestic market, local businesses purchased cotton yarn for $99.4 thousand, as well as polypropylene and HDPE produced of Türkmenhimiýa SC, and hand-made carpets for around 160 million manats.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan registered a total of 167 transactions last week.
