Uzbekistan imported 11.7 million liters of gasoline from Turkmenistan in the first six months of 2022, Podrobno.uz news website reported on Friday, with reference to the data of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
Turkmenistan thus became the second largest supplier of the fuel to the neighboring country after Russia.
In January-June months of this year, Uzbekistan has imported a total of 60.6 million liters of gasoline for $35.9 million. The import of Russian gasoline to Uzbekistan amounted to 48.8 million liters.
At the same time, Uzbekistan produced 562.7 thousand tons of gasoline (1 ton equals 1,320 liters of gasoline) in the first six months, an increase of 1.8% compared to the same period last year.
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with Turkmenistan in the first six months of this year amounted to $418.2 million.
