Ata Melhem Individual Enterprise, engaged in cleaning and processing of wool in Kaka district of Turkmenistan’s Ahal province, is exporting its woolen products to Russia, India and Belarus, the major business union of the country – Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) – reported on Tuesday.
The enterprise, equipped with advanced machinery from Turkey, processes wool of Saryja and garakoli sheeps. These processed wools are used for production of winter, felted clothes and felt boots, designed for walking on dry snow. The enterprise also produces yarn from wool.
The company specializes in processing 200 tons of wool per year. The raw materials necessary for the wool processing plant are obtained from local businesses engaged in animal husbandry.
The company, which started production in 2019, employs about 30 people.
