President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received a congratulatory letter from his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.
President Mirziyoyev said, "Our forthcoming summit meeting in October and the effectively implemented important agreements reached will serve the common interests of our fraternal peoples and the development of both countries."
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated President Berdimuhamedov and the Turkmen people on Independence Day and wished his Turkmen counterpart good health, inexhaustible energy and great successes in responsible state activity, and to the brotherly people of Turkmenistan – prosperity, happiness and further progress, the official Turkmen media reported on Monday.
"Your multifaceted activities and ongoing systemic reforms aimed at ensuring stable growth of the country, and regional and global initiatives contribute to enhancing Turkmenistan's image on the international arena,” Mirziyoyev stated in his congratulatory letter, adding that “we are deeply pleased with the relations established between our countries in the spirit of mutual understanding, good neighborliness and strategic partnership, as well as the ongoing productive dialogue at the highest level."
In a meeting held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit this month, Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan addressed issues of further development of bilateral cooperation.
