Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, met with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) on Friday in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand city, the official Turkmen media reports.
Having warmly greeted each other, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Head of Turkey exchanged congratulations on the occasion of awarding the Highest Order of the Turkic World.
The sides discussed the topics of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey, and noted with satisfaction that today they are actively developing based on the traditions of friendship and brotherhood. In this regard, they emphasized the achieved high level of mutually beneficial Turkmen-Turkish cooperation, built on the principles of respect, trust and mutual support, as well as the availability of all opportunities for its further expansion and strengthening.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also stressed the importance of further development of parliamentary relations between the two countries. He noted that the intensification of cooperation between the legislative bodies of Turkmenistan and Turkey, the exchange of experience in the field of lawmaking through mutual meetings and consultations is of great importance in strengthening the inter-parliamentary dialogue and expressed confidence that fruitful cooperation in this area will serve as an important tool for the further development of Turkmen-Turkish relations.
The Halk Maslakhaty Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished President Recep Tayyip Erdogan good health and success in responsible state activities, and further progress and prosperity to the fraternal Turkish people.
