Turkmenistan to Showcase Antique Art at Prestigious Belgium Exhibition

Turkmenistan plans to showcase its antique art at the Antika Namur Art Fair, a major event in the Benelux art market.

Ambassador Sapar Palvanov discussed the matter during his visit to the current exhibition in Namur, Belgium, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels said on Saturday.

At the invitation of Namur Province Governor Denis Mathen, Palvanov held a series of meetings with key figures in the cultural community and exhibition organizers to discuss collaboration opportunities.

The discussions focused on an initiative to establish a separate Turkmen pavilion that would showcase Turkmenistan's rich cultural heritage through the lens of antique art.

During the visit, Ambassador Palvanov also reached preliminary agreements with several galleries to launch joint exhibition projects aimed at strengthening cultural ties between the countries.

Founded in 1977, the Antica Namur Fine Art Fair remains one of Europe's leading art fairs, attracting both professionals and art enthusiasts. Each year, more than 20,000 visitors from Belgium and across Europe attend Namur.

Expo to explore exhibits from 120 galleries representing various countries. The fair features a diverse array of displays, including decorative arts from the 18th and 19th centuries, works by old masters, contemporary paintings and sculptures, antiques, designer jewelry, furniture, and vintage items.
