Turkmenistan presented its energy policy priorities during a roundtable held in Brussels, organized by the Brussels Energy Club analytical platform. Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Sapar Palvanov, delivered the keynote address, expressing the country’s interest in expanding cooperation with the European Union and European energy companies.
The ambassador highlighted Turkmenistan’s strategy aimed at diversifying export routes, enhancing hydrocarbon processing, and developing energy infrastructure. He emphasized that Turkmenistan’s approach is based on long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships, including those with European countries and companies, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium reported on Tuesday.
Participants also discussed the prospects for the construction of the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline — a potential route for delivering Turkmen gas to Europe via the Southern Gas Corridor. The project is seen as an alternative energy supply channel for European consumers.
Special attention was given to the development of domestic gas processing. Turkmenistan is implementing projects for the production of polymers, fertilizers, synthetic fuel, and other industrial products, offering broad opportunities for cooperation with European investors and technology companies.
The Brussels Energy Club is an expert platform that brings together international specialists, company representatives, analysts, and officials to discuss energy security and global energy trends.
